C.J. Torres is a Colombian writer and screenwriter from Cartagena de Indias, whose work spans children’s and young adult fiction, short stories, and crime novels, alongside a parallel career in film and television writing. He is the author of the short-story collection 7 Tentáculos Sin Cabeza (2013) and the children’s novel El Mundo de Mariana (2014), which marked the beginning of a catalogue aimed at diverse audiences. In young adult fiction, he has developed series such as Ethan West y la caída de la corona de Henrietta Stanley (2016) and Hitomi Khan y el Cementerio de los Mártires (2019), blending adventure, darker atmospheres, and character-driven storytelling with a distinctly cinematic pace. In the crime genre, he published Venganza (2019), expanding his narrative range into urban tension and psychological conflict. He is also the author of the novel Nadie te conoce, published by Calixta Editores, further consolidating a voice that moves between the street-level pulse of contemporary life and deeper emotional and social layers. In audiovisual storytelling, Torres has written screenplays for short films and series, including the animated short Callecitas de Cartagena, publicly released online.
