Wildlife / Flora

The ‘Guillermo Piñeres’ Botanical Garden is home to more than 300 plant species from Colombia’s
tropical dry forest, as well as exotic ornamental plants from tropical regions around the world. It is
also home to one of the last remaining pristine native forests in the region, making it a key site for
the restoration of tropical dry forest flora. It features trails where, alongside native flora and
centuries-old trees, visitors can observe birds, butterflies, reptiles, and monkeys (red howler
monkey, white-headed tamarin, and three-toed sloth).
