At 139 meters, the hill of La Popa is the highest mountain and the highest point in the city of Cartagena. On its summit stand the colonial church and convent "La Candelaria" built between 1606 and 1611. The Cerro offers a 360° panoramic view of the city, including emblematic places such as the historic center, Bocagrande and the coastline.
The convent/church is colonial style with an imposing gilded baroque altar. Halls of sacred art and a museum.
It has multiple patios from which it is also possible to appreciate views of the city from different angles.
Access to the hill and convent has a cost (approximately 14,000 pesos in 2025).
