Located in the Pie de la Popa neighborhood, the Chico de Hierro Weightlifting Coliseum is a top-tier sports venue in Cartagena. It was renovated in 2006 for the XX Central American and Caribbean Games, as a venue for weightlifting and table tennis competitions. It has also hosted boxing and weightlifting competitions in the 2019 National Games and powerlifting in the 2019 Paranacionales, as well as national competitions and Intercollegiate championships. 

 

The Coliseum has training schools for weightlifting and table tennis. Its infrastructure is divided into three main areas: the office area (administrative); The weightlifting area covers approximately 500 square meters and includes eight training stations, while the table tennis area spans about 800 square meters with nine training stations. It is easily adapted as a boxing ring.
