In addition to its recognition as a coastal location of crystal clear waters and white sands, where tourism and tourist attractions coexist with the traditional life of its fishing communities, Baru is an excellent ecological and natural setting, with a mostly Afro-descendant community with extensive links to environmental conservation and ecotourism management.

Baru has a series of hiking trails and historical-heritage tours, including bird watching tours (more than 190 species) and ecotourism tours through the tucutucu channel, a mangrove ecosystem.

Barú
  • Best time to film in Barú: dry season from April to December (although it coincides with the tourist season).
