Manga is a quiet and traditional residential neighborhood of Cartagena located on an island connected to the city by bridges, including the Roman Bridge built in the early twentieth century and connects Manga with the walled city through the Getsemaní neighborhood. The architecture of the neighborhood mixes modern buildings with imposing republican and neo-mudejar style mansions such as Casa Román, Casa Niza or Casa Pombo, all of them properties of historical heritage value, in addition to Fort San Sebastián del Pastelillo.
The lighting of the Roman Bridge has been reinforced in 2025 with 18 ornamental poles and 18 lanterns that respect the warm light characteristic of the 20th century, aiming to rescue the historical and patrimonial value of the bridge and its surroundings.
Other emblematic places: Club Náutico, Sociedad Portuaria and Club de Pesca, Manga Bay Pier and Tourist Pier.
In 2025, the mega-project Manga Distrito Creativo is announced, with a large investment in public space and cultural and recreational infrastructure.
- Four access points: Roman Bridge (25th Street), Bazurto Bridge (29th Street), Las Palmas Bridge (Carrera 17) and Jimenez Bridge (Carrera 22).
