Located on the Baru Peninsula, Playa Blanca is one of the most emblematic beaches in Cartagena. Its four kilometers of characteristic white sands and crystalline turquoise waters let you see the colorful underwater life with activities such as snorkeling (locally called "careteo"). During the day there is a great gastronomic and entertainment offer, mainly water activities such as jet skiing and kayaking.

It is a beach of very dense tourist affluence in high season. its capacity for receiving tourists and bathers is estimated at around 3,000 people; therefore, attendance is now controlled. In previous years, this limit was frequently exceeded, with the beach receiving up to 10,000 visitors per day. This control is possible because most of the tourism arrives via operators with day packages from Cartagena. An area almost exclusively for tourist use, inhabited only by the owners, workers and managers of the lodgings. Accommodation on the beach is in cabins, hammocks, camping areas and hostels, without large hotel chains.
