Completed in December 2025, the Playetas Road is part of the Transversal de Barú, a two-lane highway that connects Cartagena with Barú, passing through towns such as Pasacaballos, Santa Ana and Ararca. The road runs parallel to the sea, offering an incredible panoramic view of the Bay of Cartagena in the Caribbean Sea.

The Playetas sector is known for its spectacular white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Located at the northern end of the Baru Peninsula, the road improves the connection of the city of Cartagena with this area, a preferred tourist destination for water sports and for its marine gastronomy.
