The approximately 30 islands that make up this archipelago are the most popular tourist destination in the vicinity of Cartagena for its white sand beaches and crystal clear waters and water activities, mainly diving and snorkeling, which allow you to appreciate the unique underwater life of the archipelago and its famous coral reefs. There are also bird watching walks. In some areas, the phenomenon of bioluminescent placton can even be observed. The total area of about 1,200 square kilometers is a protected area as Corales del Rosario and San Bernardo National Natural Park.
 

Two types of tourism: Day trip, with round-trip tours from Cartagena and luxury tourism services. Approximately 50 hotels and resorts. Private islands, some of which are rented or are home to hotels. 

Isla Grande, with 2 square kilometers, is the largest island.
